In the quiet village about 60 kilometers from Nis, a little miracle happened on June 25, 2021.
Among the serene landscape, a small, brave soul lay peacefully in the sun. This was Little Rose, a beautiful dog with a heart full of courage, discovered just a week after her sister Ruby.
While Ruby hid away, perhaps out of fear, Little Rose remained in plain sight. It was as if she was waiting for a second chance at life, a chance that would come with unexpected challenges and triumphs.
A Rough Start
At first glance, one might think Little Rose was braver than Ruby. She wasn’t hiding; she was simply basking in the warmth of the sun.
However, the reality was more heartbreaking. Just a few days after being taken in, Little Rose began showing symptoms of parvovirosis, a severe viral disease that affects dogs.
The test confirmed our fears: she was positive.
The fight for Little Rose’s life began. With her fragile body battling against the virus, every day was a test of her strength and our hopes. But Rose, true to her name, showed incredible resilience. She fought the illness with a spirit that was nothing short of inspirational.
Despite the odds, she survived, proving to everyone that she was indeed a fighter.
The Healing Journey
Surviving parvovirosis was just the beginning of Rose’s journey. Shortly after her recovery, we noticed that the hair around her nose started falling off. It was a troubling sight, but it only strengthened our resolve to see her through.
With a regimen of vitamins and special ointments, we nurtured her back to health. Each day, she grew stronger and more vibrant, her eyes shining with a newfound zest for life.
Ruby, her sister, adapted quickly to the boarding home. She was lively and full of energy, barking and jumping with the kind of joy that brings a smile to anyone’s face.
Rose, though a bit more reserved at first, soon showed her playful side. She loved jumping over fences, always exploring, always curious.
One heart-stopping incident saw her collar get caught in the fence as she attempted a jump, but we were there just in time to ensure her safety. It was a stark reminder of how delicate and precious her life was.
The Quest for a Forever Home
For three years, little Rose has been waiting in the boarding home, waiting for someone to notice her, to open their heart and home to her.
She is spayed, vaccinated, and full of love to give. Rose is wonderful with kids, people, and other dogs.
Her mischievous antics are just her way of seeking attention, a commodity that is hard to come by in a place filled with many animals.
Her sister Ruby was luckier. She found her forever home in the UK with a wonderful lady who saw the beauty and potential in her. Ruby’s new home is filled with love and other rescued souls, a testament to the transformative power of adoption.
Rose, however, still waits for her chance.
A Call to Action
Little Rose’s story is one of resilience and hope. It’s a story that echoes the experiences of countless rescued dogs, each with their own unique journey, each waiting for a loving home.
The importance of rescue and adoption cannot be overstated. When you adopt, you’re not just giving a dog a home; you’re giving them a second chance at life, filled with love, care, and happiness.
Imagine the joy of seeing Little Rose basking in the sun, not in a boarding home, but in a safe, loving environment where she feels truly at home. Imagine her playful jumps, not confined by fences, but in a backyard where she is free to explore and express her lively spirit. This vision can become a reality with your help.
How You Can Help

If you’re considering adopting, remember Little Rose. Remember her bravery, her fight, and her capacity for love. She is waiting, as are many others, for someone to see beyond the exterior and into the heart of a dog that deserves a chance.
Conclusion
Little Rose’s journey from a sunbathing pup in a quiet village to a survivor of parvovirosis, and now a hopeful candidate for adoption, is a powerful reminder of the resilience and spirit of rescued dogs.
